Our Mission

Welcome to Barakah Tutoring, where learning becomes clear, confidence grows, and every student gets the support they need and deserve. Utilizing expert instruction, individualized attention, and a supportive environment that empowers students to succeed, we strive to improve student’s grades, help them master foundational skills, prepare for exams, and build long-term academic confidence. 

What began as a dream of a small Muslim family has grown into a thriving business. Our center was founded on the principle of Barakah—the Islamic idea divine grace and good fortune. We believe knowledge to be a source of Barakah, through intentional growth, stability, and the increase of value in everything we do.

Subjects We Offer

  • We offer supplemental education in all manner of the Sciences including:

    • Biology

    • AP & Honors Biology 

    • AP & Honors Chemistry 

    • Physical Science

    • Nursing Chemistry at the College level

  • We offer supplemental education in many K-12 subjects, including but not limited to:

    • Basic Math for Elementary and Middle School 

    • High School Math

    • Pre-Algebra

    • Algebra

  • Utilizing a comprehensive curriculum focused on critical thinking, reading comprehension, and grammar, we offer courses and tutoring in:

    • K-12 English Language Arts 

    • AP English 

    • Essay Writing and Etiquette

    • Reading Comprehension

    • Basic Grammar and Spelling for Elementary and Middle School

  • We offer instruction in the following social studies subjects:

    • US History

    • World History

    • World Geography 

    • K-12 Social Studies

Meet Your Instructors

Sofia Abdulkadir │ Founder Math & Science Tutor

With a plethora of academic achievements and experience in teaching Math & Science, Ms. Sofia Abdulkadir has proven herself to be a proficient and well-versed instructor. With a Bachelor's of Science in the Biological Sciences from UCR, a Master's in Environmental Policy, and experience in teaching and tutoring around the world with schools and institutions like the American International School of Abu Dhabi, Sylvan Learning, and Quba Islamic School, Ms. Sofia has a multitude of skills and knowledge of what it means to be a great tutor and instructor. 

Zaid A Deus │ Co-Founder English & History Tutor

Mr. Zaid is well-versed in the art of English, History, and ELA education. Through his experience as a writer for the entertainment news agency Screen Rant and working as a tutor and instructor for over 3 years, Mr. Zaid has a wide variety of experience in teaching students of all ages. With a passion for the English Language Arts & History, Mr. Zaid is dedicated to providing the absolute best instruction to his students at Barakah Tutoring. 

The Abdulkadir Fund

A fund created by Mesfin Shawel and Rosa Abdulkadir to help those in need who cannot afford the means for supplemental education, The Abdulkadir Fund was created in the belief that anyone should be free and able to afford a great education.

In partnership with Barakah Tutoring, The Abdulkadir Fund will help those in need pay for a portion of the fees required for the hourly tutoring sessions we offer. We strive in building our community and raising up those who cannot do so themselves with Barakah, and The Abdulkadir Fund is one of the many steps we take in doing so.
